McKENZIE, Tenn. (May 2, 2018) – You’ve heard the old adage that April showers bring May flowers, but J&J Auto Racing teams have starting popping up winners just as the month is getting started.
Wrapping up the end of April with a bang, J&J Auto Racing teams found their way to victory lane in New Zealand and United States 10 times. On April 20, Tyler Drueke nabbed his first win of the 2018 season at US 36 Raceway in Osborn, MO against a stout field of IMCA RaceSaver teams to put his name on the J&J Auto Racing winner board.
On April 21, teams picked up five victories with Lucas Wolfe putting his name on the board as a winner in United Racing Club (URC) Series action at Port Royal (PA) Speedway. Wolfe was followed to the line by fellow J&J Auto Racing drivers Trey Starks, who finished third and Josh Weller who grabbed a top-10 with a sixth-place run.
Later the same evening, Clint Garner returned to his winning ways at Knoxville (Iowa) Raceway in the 360ci Winged Sprint Car Championship division. He was followed to the line by J&J Auto Racing’s Matt Moro in third place and Calvin Landis in fourth position.
Mike Leraas and Brayden Gaylord also picked up victories on April 21 to put their names on the J&J Auto Racing board. Leraas won the Virginia Sprint Series (VSS) feature event at Shenandoah (VA) Speedway. Gaylord took the checkered flag at 34 Raceway in Burlington, IA the same evening in the 305ci winged sprint division.
Matthew Leversedge put J&J Auto Racing in the books as the 2018 Circle Track Racing Association (CTRA) champion at the Ellesmere Motor Racing Club on April 21 to close out a stellar evening for the brand.
On April 22, Tanner Gebhardt battled his way to victory lane at Quincy (IL) Raceways in the 305ci winged sprint division for his first victory of the season.
Ohio’s Jared Horstman grabbed his first win of the year at Limaland Motorsports Park in NRA Sprint Invaders Series action on April 27. One state over, Ryan Tusing also picked up his first victory of the year at Bloomington (Ind.) Speedway on the same night in the 305ci sprint car division.
On April 28, Eric Lutz picked up a $10,000 paycheck at Park Jefferson Speedway in North Sioux City, SD, to earn the biggest victory of his career to-date.
To wrap up the weekend, Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing’s Donny Schatz drove to his ninth victory of the year, his fifth World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series win of the season, at the historic Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas. Schatz leads J&J Auto Racing in victories thus far in 2018.
