McKENZIE, Tenn. (March 21, 2018) – It may have been St. Patrick’s Day, but Florida’s Hayden Campbell has found that green can bring a lot of luck as he rolled to his fourth straight Top Gun Sprint Series win of the season and his third in a row at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, Fla., on March 17th.
Taking the lead by the end of the first circuit in the 25-lap feature event, Campbell quickly distanced himself from the field briefly before hitting lapped traffic on lap five. A well-handling racecar allowed Campbell to change lines as needed as he negotiated traffic.
A caution period during the mid-section of the event on lap 16 saw Campbell easily retain the lead on the restart as he cruised to the win. The Floridian has been impressive in the early weeks of the 2018 season as not only has he won four Top Gun Sprint Series races in commanding fashion but has also stretched the championship points lead by 24 over second place.
