McKENZIE, Tenn. (October 17, 2017) – Even as the summer of 2017 becomes old news, J&J Auto Racing teams continue to find heat and sunshine as they picked up five victories, three championships and a rookie of the year title in racing action across the country last week.

Jake McLain laid claim to the Carolina No Bull Sprints series championship with a victory at Traveler’s Rest (SC) Speedway on Saturday, Oct. 14. McLain has earned three 305ci winged sprint car victories to-date this season. On the other side of the country and the other side of sprint car racing, Caleb Saiz also claimed a championship this season as he earned the 305ci non-wing sprint Sandia Speedway title.

Ryan Stillwaggon found the way to victory lane in Mid-Atlantic Sprint Car (MASC) Series competition last Saturday at Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, Pa., to win his second on the season. Todd Pudwill won the IMCA 305ci RaceSaver (IMCA) feature event at El Paso County Raceway in Calhan, Co., to put his name on the win board.

Jared Horstman has had a standout season in 2017, winning 11 feature events to-date with J&J Auto Racing. The Ohio native was crowned as the NRA Sprint Invaders/Great Lakes Sprint Series (NRA/GLSS) champion following a 14th place run at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, on Oct. 11. Max Stambaugh earned Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions (ASCoC) Rookie of the Year honors following the final race of the season at Eldora the same night.

Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing’s Donny Schatz posted win No. 22 on the season as he drove to a victory at Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway on Saturday, Oct. 14, against the World of Outlaws (WoO) Craftsman Sprint Car Series. Schatz holds a 162-point lead as the series heads into the final six races of the year. Carl Bowser also won in 410ci winged sprint car action the same night and in the same state as he picked up an Allegheny Sprint Tour (AST) victory in the prestigious Steel City Stampede event at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa.
