McKENZIE, Tenn. (September 27, 2017) – J&J Auto Racing’s George Tristao, Jr., capped off the 2017 season by winning the IMCA Western RaceSaver Sprints (WRS) championship at Bakersfield (Calif.) Speedway on Sept. 23. While Tristao, Jr., didn’t pick up any wins this season, his consistent and steady racing style netted him the big payday and bragging rights following last Saturday’s season finale. Tristao, Jr. is also a newly minted J&J Auto Racing dealer as his business, Stellar Racing Products in Tulare, Calif., will be handling chassis and part orders.
The McKenzie, Tenn., based manufacturer saw six teams in five states pick up victories in last week’s racing action as J&J Auto Racing teams won 360ci and 305ci winged sprint car divisions across the country. Sam Hafertepe, Jr., won his 15th feature event of the season in American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) National division competition on Sept. 23 at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, MO. Josh Schneiderman also picked up a 360ci feature event win with the Sprint Invaders Series on the same night at 34 Raceway in Burlington, IA.
Cody Gardner won the 360ci Fall Nationals feature event at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Ark., on Sept. 23 while Lance Moss picked up his second United Sprint Car Series (USCS) feature win the same night at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, SC.
Jan Howard won the 305ci IMCA RaceSaver division feature event at Riverside International Speedway to post his first season victory. Jesse Mack wrapped up the 2017 season with a WRS feature win at Bakersfield Speedway on Sept. 23.
